At Maxum, we’ve always believed the ocean connects us. It pushes us, inspires us, and brings people together in a way nothing else can. That’s why we were proud to get behind this year’s SurfAid Make A Wave Challenge — a month-long movement where surfers across the world paddled out every day in September to raise money for communities in remote surf regions.

The cause is simple but powerful: every wave surfed helps provide clean water, healthcare, sanitation, and food security to families living in places like Indonesia and the Solomon Islands — the same places that give us the waves we love.

This year’s challenge made a huge impact. Over $1.1 million USD was raised by thousands of surfers across the globe — proof that a little saltwater and a lot of heart can go a long way.

For us, the connection was even more personal. We sponsored local surfer and all-round legend Kate Field — you might know her as @werollwithit — who took part in the challenge wearing our unisex Raglan Tide Watch. Between early morning sessions, salty smiles, and a few solid wipeouts, Kate showed exactly what the Make A Wave spirit is all about: showing up, every day, and doing something that matters.

Supporting SurfAid feels like a natural fit for Maxum. We’ve always been about more than just watches — it’s about time well spent, moments that matter, and being part of something bigger. The Make A Wave Challenge is the perfect reminder that surfing isn’t just about the ride; it’s about the ripple effect it can create.

We’re stoked to have been part of it — and even more stoked to see what’s next. Because when the surf community comes together, incredible things happen.

Here’s to the waves, the wipeouts, the wins, and everyone who made it count.
