The Basalt is a no-nonsense matte black digital watch made to keep up. It’s water-resistant to 100m and tested in the surf by Kyuss King, so it’s as at home on a dawn session as it is on the street.
The display is sharp and easy to read, with a backlight for early starts. You get the functions you’ll actually use: a stopwatch with lap timing, an alarm, dual time zones and the date.
The quick-release silicone strap is comfortable in and out of the water, and if anything goes wrong, our 2-year replacement warranty has you covered.
Why “Basalt”? It’s named after the dense volcanic rock found from mountain ranges to the ocean floor. It’s tough, impact-resistant and made for hard places, just like the watch.

Can I surf and swim with it?
Yes. It’s rated to 100m and tested in the surf by Kyuss King. Rinse it in fresh water after the ocean, and avoid pressing buttons underwater.
Will it fit my wrist?
At 48.5mm it’s a large watch, but slightly smaller than the Explorer (49mm) and Bulk (54mm).
Can I replace the strap if needed?
Yes. It has quick-release pins, so you can replace.
Is it hard to set up?
Not at all. Instructions are included and also online. Or choose “Arrive ready to go” and we’ll set it for you.

Maxum watches are built to last and come with a 5-year limited warranty or 2-year replacement warranty. This covers manufacturing defects but does not include:

Maxum watches are built to handle life’s adventures, from casual splashes to water sports like surfing. Our water resistance ratings of 100m and 200M are suitable for water sports including swimming and snorkelling.
Key tips:
💧 Avoid pressing buttons or adjusting the crown while submerged.
🔥 Keep your watch away from hot water (saunas, hot tubs, and baths).
As extreme heat and pressing buttons whilst under water may cause your watch to lose its water resistance.
